The Coggeshall Community Bus is a unique service run and operated totally by volunteers. The bus provides morning and evening runs to and from Kelvedon railway station, as well as local midday runs to provide an invaluable transport link around Coggeshall. The bus operates on a not-for-profit basis, and is completely self financing. The current air conditioned Mercedes vehicle entered service in September 2017.
With the new nationwide lockdown restrictions now in place, our previous plans to attempt a restart of the service in April, now seems very unlikely indeed. However, with the major vaccine rollout imminent, we will re-evaluate when we can start the service again when the speed of the vaccine rollout becomes clearer over the coming weeks.
We are continually reviewing the ever changing situation and will provide more information on a potential restart of the service as and when it is available. Rest assured though, we will restart the service at the earliest opportunity, once we are sure that all safety considerations of our passengers and volunteer drivers are fully met. In the meantime we are maintaining the vehicle to keep it ready for service and have equipped it with Covid seat screens as well as a sanitising station.
In the meantime, keep yourself and your families safe and well, and we look forward to welcoming you as a passenger again very soon.
