The Coggeshall Community Bus is a unique service run and operated totally by volunteers. The bus provides morning and evening runs to and from Kelvedon railway station, as well as local midday runs to provide an invaluable transport link around Coggeshall. The bus operates on a not-for-profit basis, and is completely self financing. The current air conditioned Mercedes vehicle entered service in September 2017.
We have had some equiries recently from our customers regarding our timetable and the new "emergency timetable" which is now running for the trains. Unfortunately, little advance warning was issued relating to this timetable, so we were caught out by these changes. Also unlike the train services, as a registered bus service, we have to submit any changes to our timetable to the traffic commissioner for approval a long way ahead of implementation. Added to this, further changes to the train timetable are scheduled for the 17th of January.
We are currently looking to introduce a temporary timetable to better reflect the new train times, but this is not easy, as obtaining the latest timetable from Greater Anglia is proving almost impossible, especially as even their web site does not show the current timetable. We will keep you updated as soon as we have an update on this.
